SAN FRANCISCO – (BUSINESS WIRE) February 2, 2005 -- Save The Earth Foundation’s 2005 Earth Day Auction will take place again this year both online and on the radio. This annual online plus “On-Air” auction is supported by classic rock and country radio stations across the country. The auction features some of the world’s most sought after autographed guitars, posters and memorabilia.
Last year the Save The Earth / Earth Day Auction expanded to a unique “On-Line and On-Air” auction using the Internet and a dozen top market radio stations hosting live auctions of autographed guitars from the worlds most well known artists such as: the Rolling Stones,Eric Clapton, Aerosmith, Neil Young and others.
“We use Earth Day to help the Save The Earth Foundation support scientific research and educational programs and promote positive “reduce, reuse and recycle” environmental messaging across the US,” said Ken Margolis, Director of Events for the Save The Earth Foundation. “We plan to expand on the tremendous success we had last year. Millions of people heard the message on the radio and online leading up to the Earth Day event.”
The radio auctions will be live on the air, all day on Earth Day, Friday, April 22nd, 2005 and promoted by the radio station’s on-air personalities. A special 800 number and a web page for each autographed guitar will make the auction accessible to as many people as possible.
